personal transformation

It's tough, challenging, and life changing.  Yes, I said life changing.

Calling meta/mor/phys
a group exercise class is like calling the Navy Seals BUD/S training a multi-week group swim activity.

Early participants in the training have remarked many things; including a myriad of expletive laden volleys during the actual up-hill slog we once called BYOB (bring your own bucket - to puke in that is).  But they have also lost fat and gained lean muscle (one guy had some custom suites made with a free alteration guarantee - he lost 44 pounds in 8 weeks and is going on his third free alteration in as much time - so much so, that the pockets are spaced strangely and he's asked for new suites altogether).  That's not water weight people - not some asinine soup and celery diet - it's hard work, healthy muscles, functional strength - it's awesome.

There are many success stories, but fat loss and lean muscle gains are really just the shallow end of the pool when it comes to
meta/mor/phys.  The real transformation comes in the exploration of self, the willingness to suffer, and the courage to push your limits ever further.  Think about those words for a few minutes...

We are all in a state of transformation - seeking, searching, pushing.  But, in the end, each true participant reaches a tipping point, a place where change occurs inside.  This, then, is the beginning of another transformation - one created from a now firm and lasting foundation.

I've always wanted to write a "get fit" book.  I've envisioned the title a few different ways, including:
"Hey cup cake, get your ass of the couch and move a little"
"Idea!  Stop shoveling that garbage in your mouth - now drop and give me 50"

and, my favorite...
"I'm sorry Mommy didn't hold you enough, but you're an adult now, you make the decisions, and you deal with the consequences, so drop the victim crap, stop the drama parade, and get it together for God's sake"

To be clear, we're not looking for participants that melt at the first sign of pain, quit when the going gets tough, or skimp on the details.  Why?  Because this process forms a brotherhood (and sisterhood ladies) that is forged during high intensity work.  The weakest link in the group can ruin the progress for others working within their team.  Yes, I said team.  Often, you will find yourself working with partners, groups of three, even groups of 5 or 6.  The team succeeds when each participants excels.

Sound intimidating?  Need to think it over?  If so, get lost.

We're looking for the mentally tough and the emotionally solid.  Our work is too important to stop and play wet nurse to grown adult.  We've got things to do here, people!  The key is in the effort - not the physical shape with which you begin.  I've been inspired by some really out of shape people that simply - gave their all - saved nothing - reached for more.  This is THE key.

As a parting note, we don't subscribe to any one fitness philosophy or trend; we don't do organizations or certifications.  Don't ask if we've heard of the next fitness craze or piece of "can't miss" workout metal peice-o-crap-a-meter.  We train - hard.  We discard research until we duplicate or exceed results in our own experiments.  Our bodies are our laboratories.  We are creative - some say obsessive (a word often used by those that cannot and will not strive) - people from various walks of life.

If you like what you've read, you should a try a class.  If not, don't waste your time.
